Good morning everyone - still coming down off the chocolate highs of yesterday? Well here's a card to make you keep thinking of spring and gardens and parties and cake...mmm, cake...
Ink blending and paper piecing and Nuvo Crystal drops and gold and ribbon - yummy!
The background panel was blended out with Distress Inks, spritzed with Antique Gold Perfect Pearls spray, then stamped with the Fancy Happy Birthday sentiment in black. While all that dried I started in on the Rose Bloom.
I went super old-school - paper piecing! I stamped the rose once on the patterned pink paper, then again on the pink and the green. A little cutting, foam tape, and light Copic highlighting makes for an easy embellishment when you're not in the mood to color.
I finished off the front with that fun gold chicken wire ribbon, a strip of gold cardstock, and the Nuvo Crystal Drops in Glitter White and Antique Rose for shimmer.
The inside got fun patterned paper from Authentique and the green rose left over from cutting out my leaves. The Never grow up sentiment finishes the card. Because hey, birthdays are fine, but no one ever said you have to keep growing up!
Supplies Used:
Happy Birthday Fancy stamp
Never Grow Up stamp
Rose Bloom stamp
Glitter White Blizzard Nuvo Crystal Drops
Antique Rose Nuvo Crystal Drops

ReplyDeleteI love everything about it, right from the flowers, the color selection to the nuvo drops! ^__^ Beautiful project Jennifer, I also loved how you decorated the inside. I am lazy and I avoid decorating the insides so this idea of layering it with patterned paper was great! :D *Hugs* <3
