Apple a Day

To say that I have been blessed with amazing friends would be the understatement of the century!  Most of them live in all corners of the world from Scotland, England, South Africa, Spain and scattered throughout the United States.  We don't hang out often, rarely talk on the phone, occasionally harass each other on Facebook, but at the end of the day each and every one of them appreciates a bit of snark and sass.

Today's card is using a fun sentiment that my friend Davy sent to me ages ago and I just HAD to make it into a stamp.  To say that Davy and I have "always" been friends would be the biggest lie on the face of the planet!  I totally would have thrown an entire orchard at Davy back in high school if given the chance.  The man or boy INFURIATED ME!  He never studied his lines in Drama, he came to shows unprepared and for some unknown reason, Mr. & Mrs. Siler felt the need to cast him in HUGE roles.   While we are being honest here, let's face it, I was a frikken diva and Davy and I made each other's lives MISERABLE!   =)

Fast forward 20 years and Davy grew up to be a FABULOUS friend and I may have shed a percentage or two of my devil-diva ways...MAYBE!  Either way the insults still fly, I can still honestly say that I couldn't stand him in high school and he is now on my Most Super Amazing Kick Ass Friends of All Time list!

So this cutesy card and fun stamp is for you, Davy!
Apple a Day

Now down to the nitty gritty of the card!

Stamps: Apple a Day and Pussy Willow - So Suzy Stamps
Punches: Cupcake punch from Stampin' Up!
Paper: Real Red, Crumb Cake, White, Real Red DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake

The little basket for the apples is actually the cupcake base from the Cupcake punch from Stampin' Up! and I just drew the lines down the scallops and sponged the edges.  The apples are the cherries and I cut a bit of the top stem off and colored them with the Chocolate Chip marker.  They were put on the paper using glue dots.  It was a bit tedious, but totally worth it!

On a side note, I wonder if this is why teachers have apples on their desk?  Makes you wonder!  ;)

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
