PS I Love You

More swirly love in the shape of hearts just in time for Valentine's Day!  I absolutely love the swirls in our new Swirly Heart stamp that was released this month.  Plus, the little hearts surrounding the larger one says romance and promises love!

AND there is an extra little surprise on this card...a BRAND NEW STAMP!  I was going to release it on February 1st, but I thought a fun little surprise on my brother's birthday would be a great way to celebrate!

SO!  If you would like to pick up the P.S. I love you stamp before it gets officially released on February 1st, I would suggest you head on out and order it before it sells out.

As far as our card goes, I wanted something quick, easy and simple, but I still wanted it to exude elegance.

  1. I used a standard card base of 5.5" x 4.25" in Cherry Cobbler paper from Stampin' Up
  2. I then sponged the edges of the card in Early Espresso ink
  3. The white paper is a first layer sized at 5.25" x 4" and I ran it through the Big Shot using the heart border embossing folder
  4. As far as the Swirly Heart stamp goes, I used my MISTI to stamp it onto the white paper.  I did this for several reasons:
    1. I wanted to make sure the entire heart inked up well
    2. I also wanted to get a darker right side of the heart to give it a variegated appearance
    3. The MISTI allowed me to do both of those things
  5. I inked the Swirly Heart stamp with Cherry Cobbler and stamped it once
  6. Then I inked the right side of the stamp with more ink than the left and stamped it again
  7. Next, I used my Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the P.S. I Love You sentiment
  8. Taped it to the front of the card and then I started in on the gold accents!
  9. I originally was going to use the Gold Stickles for the accents around the swirls of the hearts, but it was too dark and I didn't like it.  Instead, I used Gold Glitz Dazzling Details from Stampin' Up.  It is more of a yellowish gold, but it totally popped next to the Cherry Cobbler swirls
  10. That is pretty much it!   Sweet, simple and super easy!
I now have a great card that can be used for Valentine's Day, an anniversary or just because!  AND it only took two stamps to accomplish!  Woo hoo!
