Easter Wishes

Good morning everyone - Jen here from Caffeinated Papercuts, and I am so sick of winter! It. is. COLD. So to remind myself that spring really will come someday, I pulled out the new Bunny in an Egg and Easter Wishes stamps to make a cute Easter card.

And yes, I did hop on the bandwagon of making a peek-a-boo card! LOL It has become our unofficial theme this past week and we're loving it.

Ready for a fun photo tutorial of how I made the card? All right, grab some coffee and get cozy!

Simon Says Stamp 100# Cardstock, Sea Glass
Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock
Memento Inks; Tuxedo Black and Summer Sky
Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy ink
Pretty Pink Posh;  Sparkling Clear Sequins 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and Peek-A-Boo die
Various Spica Glitter Pens
So Suzy Stamps; Bunny in an Egg and Easter Wishes

I started by cutting down a piece of the Sea Glass cardstock to a standard A2, top-folding card, then made a line across the very middle of my card in pencil to give me a good starting point for my background.

I inked up the Easter Wishes with the Summer Sky ink and stamped right in the middle of the card base.

Once I had my first line down, it was easy to keep going. I varied where I started the stamp on each line, and just worked my way out from the middle. When I got to the top crease, I made sure to mask off the edge so as not to stamp onto the back of the card.

The lovely thing about Memento ink is that it dries instantly, so I was able to immediately move on and position the Peek-a-boo die where I wanted it. I knew I wanted the bunny on the bottom corner inside, so I placed my die there and held it in place with a bit of Post-it tape (washi tape would work, too).

A quick run through my Big Kick and the card base was done. On to the inside!

For the interior of the card, I trimmed down a piece of the Neenah Solar White to 4"x5.25" then stamped the greeting again inside in Soft Navy ink and my bunny in the Tuxedo Black in the corner.

I knew I wanted to color him in, but I wanted some sparkle...so I pulled out my Spica Glitter pens and got to work. It also made me realize I want more colors of Spicas...sigh...

Once colored, I simply adhered the white panel inside the card and rounded the top corners. The outside was feeling a little plain, so I added a trickle of sequins to help draw your eye to the bunny peeking out of the corner.

All done! Just look at the shimmer those Spicas give:

Then open up the card...
