Guest Designer - Maria Pilar

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today we have another wonderful Guest Designer.  I absolutely love Miss Pilar!  We started out emailing back and forth regarding an order she placed and became instant friends.  PLUS, she was my very first customer in Spain!  How cool is THAT?!  Phineas along with a heck of a lot more So Suzy Stamps are soaking up the sun in lovely Spain!  Woo hoo!

What do you say we all meet Miss Pilar and see what sort of gorgeous cards she has created for us!

I am very happy to participate this day as a Guest Designer to blog on So Suzy Stamps blog.  For me, it is a great birthday present.

I've been doing scrapbooking for about 6 years, although I like all kinds of crafts, but this year is when I am learning more, thanks to my friend Alexandra, who has opened the door for me to discover other worlds.  In fact, right now I am participate in three design teams.

Since I met So Suzy Stamps products by Martha Lucia Gomez, I have used them in many works because I like its design and ease of use not only for prints.

After Suzanne's proposal of being a Guest Designer, I chose seals Swirl Heart Fan and Love Life for my project.  I have to say what fascinated me was this fan this phrase, "Being creative means to be in love with life", but I've been giving a lot of laps as to how to capture movement on a card like we do with the fans for relief from the heat.  At last it occurred to me to use vellum (or tracing paper) to get it as it is quite malleable.  And I started testing...

For this work, I used a white cardboard base 16 x 12 cm and on it I stuck a Carpeline cardboard with scrim effect, which I decorated one side with a die edge of Martha Stewart.

I embossed Osho sentiment in white, I chose this because I love his books and I started to fan.

First I stamped the seal on vellum in white and wrinkled to simulate how it would look if it were fabric.  Then I went back to stamp on the white cardboard using Distress Vintage Photo, for what would be the framework and mixing Victoria Velvet, Wild Honey and Dusty Concord where arabesques go.

The final details were to tie a rose tassel (here in Spain, many with this motif) and large half pearls of the same color.

Here you can see in more detail the pattern on vellum and the 3D effect on the tape makes two fans.

So Suzy Stamps Blog has many more ideas for using her stamps and you can find the stamps on her website.

Another test I did with these stamps was also to emboss in various shades.  I chose the colors purple, magenta, blue and brown embossing powders by Ranger.

The thought is stamped on a piece of Carpeline that I used in the other card in white ink.

I embossed the card with a folder, but before I made his background with Distress Victoria Velvet, Wild Honey  and Peeled Paint spraying with a little water to mix them a bit.

Finally, I added burgundy lace on the side.

I hope you have enjoyed the cards as I had so much fun making them!

Thank you so much, Suzanne.
