Hello everyone it’s Laura here from Crafty not Shifty and I am
back for my third and final guest post for So Suzy Stamps. Before we get
started I’d like to say how much fun I have had featuring on the blog and how
grateful I am for the opportunity.
So let's get right into today's card. I wanted to use the beautiful
Fancy Swirl
Christmas Tree with an embossed frame. To do this I started with a 4 ¼” by
5 ½” A2 sized cream card panel and I scored along all four edges at 1/8” to create some interest around the edges of
the card.
I then took the largest of the stitched rectangle dies from
Simon Says Stamp and used my embossing mat to emboss rather than cut the
design into the center of the card.
I then stamped the tree in black ink and covered it with
clear embossing powder to give the high shine look of black embossing but
without the worry of having any little specs of black embossing powder where
you don’t want them.
I added the panel to a white A2 size top folding note card
and finished up by stamping Merry Christmas and embossing in gold and adding
some pearl detail to some of the swirls of the tree.
To watch the video of how I made this card please head over
to my YouTube channel.
Whilst I had the stamp out I decided to make another card
using the tree but this time with the Enjoy The Warmth
sentiment.
I stamped and embossed the tree with gold glitter embossing
powder onto black card stock cut to 4 1/8” 5 ¼’. Below This I stamped the
sentiment and embossed it with gold embossing powder then mounted the whole
thing onto a red top folding A2 sized note card. I think this would make a
really great quick and easy card to mass produce for friends and family.
Well I guess that is all from me, thank you again for having me. If you would like to see more from me you can find me on the social media site below.
