Hello again it's Laura here and I am back for my second So Suzy Stamps guest post. I am sticking with the Christmas theme and making two
cheeky elf cards.
For my first card I used some patterned paper to create a
background and two tag die cuts that I layered on top of each other to add some
dimension and interest.
On the smaller of the two tags I stamped the Elf Shoes and the sentiment ,‘The nice list is
SO over-rated” in Versamark ink and heat embossed them with Ranger liquid
platinum embossing powder for some Christmas shine.
I added some color to the elf feet using Spectrum Noir
alcohol ink markers but you could use whatever markers you have. To finish up
the tag I added the hole reinforcement and inked up the edges with Distress ink
in Antique Linen and tied some twin and jingle bells.
I inked the edges of the snowflake background with tumbled
glass Distress ink and stuck everything down to a khaki A2 sized notecard and
added some clear sequins to finish it off.
For my second card I used the same elf shoes stamp but this
time created two pieces of custom pattern paper by repeatedly stamping the
image on to some cream card stock first in black ink and then with red ink. While I had that stamp out I stamped in onto
a small square of cardstock and added color using my spectrum noir markers and
some small clear gems on each of the bells on the shoe.
I die cut two rectangles with the two largest stitched
rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp and added some color using coloring
pencils. I wanted this second card to have a more childlike appearance so I
didn’t blend out the pencil using Gamsol so you could still see the pencil
lines.
Using some masking I stamped the sentiment in red and black
on another piece of cream cardstock and again die cut it with the stitched
rectangle dies. Then I mounted
everything onto a cream A2 sized note card using some foam tape for dimension
and finished it off with a green and red gift sticker.
Thank you for having me today, if you would like to see more
from me you can find me on the social media site below and I will be back again
next week for my final post.
