Join me in welcoming her as our January Guest Designer!
I'm so happy to be guest designing this
month for So Suzy Stamps.
Even though Suzy is best known for her quick wit and snark, that sassy
red-head also has a soft side, which I'll be channeling today.
When the new
release came out recently, featuring the Blowing Tree, I thought it
would be fantastic to pair it with the Audrey Hepburn sentiment......
blowing leaves, holding onto each other.... a scene straight out of a romantic
film.
To get started, I heat embossed my tree and sentiment, then broke
out my Twinkling H20 shimmer paints.
I used these on my Bristol Strathmore 300 series watercolor paper,
spritzing water inside the pots and painting with a small paintbrush. I
also did a little smooshing to get fuller coverage, adding my paint to an
acrylic block, spritzing with water, then smooshing the paper onto the wet
paint. I filled in any empty spaces with random color.
To make those black leaves pop a little more, I used a white gelly
roll pen and filled in some of the empty spaces. It was detailed work,
but quick work. No need to be perfect.
Once my paint and paper were dry, I sponged on some chalk ink,
using a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop, randomly on the outskirts of my
paper.
I also added tiny dots to with my gel pen to follow the swirls of
the looping curls, and some tiny
sequins as well, which also came from Suzy's online store.
A few DoubleClick Skittles
bubble embellishments, also found here in Suzy's store, round out the finishing
touches on this pretty card.
Thanks so much for letting me share with
you today.
Stop back by next week for another fun
project, right here on the So Suzy Stamps blog.
