They only thing pulling me thought this week is the weather!! Its pretty nice here in NY. 70 degree weather today and tomorrow. I can take that.
In any case, thats get down to business!!
First let me say I love this month's release. Suzy did an amazing job with these stamps. I'm not a flower person because I never know what to do with them, but these flowers are calling me and I want to play with them.
That's big for me!!
So without further ado, here is my card:
Here's how:
I stamped the image using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.
Then I used Tombow Recycled Color Pencils to color in my image.
I started with the leaves. There are three green color pencils. I started with the lightest one, yellow green, I took my time and added that color very lightly.
Then I added the second color, green, and applied this color to the edges and veins of the leaves. Adding just a bit more pressure then the first color. I went back over with the yellow green to blend out the darker green.
After that, I used the Deep Green color pencil, add the last bit of shading. I added this color to the edges of the leaf.
Then I moved on to the actual flower.
This set of pencils only had one red pencil so I took my time and layered this red color.
I started off really light at first. Then I increased my pressure where you see the marked lines. I went over the flower again with light pressure to blend the two shades of this colors out.
For the last swipe over, I increased my pressure even more to had some more in-depth shadows.
When I was pleased with the coloring, I used Towbow's Sand Eraser to create the highlights. I took my time and erased some of the colors where I wanted the highlights to be.
Then I die cut a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock with My Favorite Things Stitched Circle Scallop Frame Die four times.
I used Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to adhered them together and to attach the die cut to the card base around the flower.
To finish the card off I stamped So Suzy Stamps Never Grow Up with Versafine Black Onyx Ink.
I loved how this card turned out. I was so excited to color the flower, I forgot to take pictures of my process. Sorry about that. I will next time.
So what do you think? Any question? Please let me know below. I would love to hear what you think.
