Dance with Fairies and Talk to the Moon

Hey everyone - Jen here playing with ink blending, heat embossing, and dancing with the fairies.

You ever see a stamp and get a fabulous idea in your head of 'oh, I know exactly what I want to do with that!' and then freak out because you're convinced that it won't turn out the way you want it to? Yup, it was one of those times...from the moment I saw the new Talk to the Moon stamp I had this fabulous idea in my head of the stamps I would use with it and the scene I would create.

And then I froze; what if I messed up? What if I had to toss it all away? What if...huh, I need a post tomorrow. Suck it up buttercup, time to go for it! Boy am I glad that I did.

Yeah, it came out how I wanted. :) Isn't it fabulous when new stamps coordinate with older stamps?? Oh, and see the moon - that was using the Jo's Bubbles Clarity stencil. I used the main stencil to get my moon in place using Fossilized Amber Distress Ink and my fabulous Clarity Brushes, then used the solid circle that comes with the stencil as a mask to keep it safe.

Then it was time to go ink-blending crazy; bottom to top is Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks. For the stars, I gave the Distress Crayons a try through a stencil; not bad. I think I need more practice, but they're cute.

I let everything dry while I broke out my embossing powder. I added my Dancing Fairy with black powder, the Dragonfly with silver, and Talk to the Moon with liquid platinum.

A sprinkling of clear sequins and star sequins finished up my night sky, and a quick diecut to give the front panel the faux stitching finished it off. Of course, can't forget the inside...

More faux stitching, and I stamped the Flower Flourish in Memento Summer Sky to keep it light. To finish it off I stamped the Love and Happiness sentiment until it was a nice, dark black (thank you MISTI!). How pretty would this be for a birthday card??

Happy Crafting!
