Good morning!! Jessica here for my final guest design
post for So Suzy Stamps! A BIG thanks to Suzy and the So Suzy Stamps
design team for being so welcoming and encouraging this month! These
ladies ROCK and I am honored to have had the opportunity to guest-design!
For my last card I wanted to push myself out of my comfort
zone. No-line watercoloring is a technique that always intrigues
me...However I struggle with it because I am a fairly impatient person and I
have ruined many projects by not allowing them to dry fully. ;) But when I saw
the adorable Two Cats in a Tree stamp I decided to give it a try! I
freehand painted the sunrise background using a waterbrush and watercolor
sample dots. Since Suzy is from New Mexico (and there's no way I could
freehand paint a forest) I decided to google 'New Mexico sunrise' and used some
of the desert mountains photographs as inspiration! Once the background
was totally dry I stamped the cats with Antique Linen distress ink and then
used the same sample dots and a waterbrush to paint over the lines of the
stamp. I let it dry overnight and then added the sentiment from the
Happiness is... series and a black frame that I colored with a clear
sparkle. Please visit my blog
for more details on how I created my card and a closer look at the stamp!
Again, many thanks to Suzy for having me this month!!
I loved the no-line watercoloring Jessica! The background colors look very striking against the stamped image! ^__^ Absolutely fantastic card! Thank you so much for sharing! *Hugs* <3
