Day 3 for The Ton and So Suzy Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 3 of our fabulous blog hop with the amazing ladies from The Ton!  If you missed Day 1, please use this link to start at Effie's blog and hop on through until you hit Olesya.  We will be announcing the winners of the hop on Friday morning in time for Black Friday shopping!

When Effie released the Born Classy set I saw the feather skirt and instantly saw peacocks!  Seeing that I am obsessed with the colorful creatures, how could I NOT end our hop with those fabulous colors?

I also wanted to do two versions of the same card just with a few tweaks on each one.  This week was the first time I have played with my Copics in AGES and I missed no line coloring and definitely needed the practice.

For the first card I stamped our sassy lady with a light pink ink and colored her with Copics.

Hair: E13, E19 & E29
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Dress: E50 & E51
Shadows: C0 & C2

For the feathers, I inked the different layer with Happy Hunter, Royal Phineas and Plum Passion from our Peacock Plumes Ink Bites.

I stamped Faked a Sarcasm in Versa Mark and embossed with Nuvo Glitter Gold Enchantment Embossing Powder.

I used The Tons Mini Wild Florals stamps for the top corner, because they are just too cute NOT to use!

I really wanted this card to be incredibly blinging and I am in love with Effie's Adhesive Glitter Paper so I had to use the blue!

I just love these colors!!!

For the second card, I kept with the same colors, but instead of no-line coloring, I just stamped the lady in Black Memento ink, but I wanted to add some gold accents in her skirt.  The Born Classy set has this cute cluster of stars so I thought they would be perfect to add to the bottom of the skirt!

I used the same colors as in the other card, but I framed the card in with black and gold in lieu of the glimmer paper.

I hope you have enjoyed our joint blog hop this week and please sure and visit the blogs for the other design team members who are participating in Day 3.  Don't forget to leave a comment for everyone to be entered into our giveaways on Friday morning!

For those of you in the US, please have a happy and safe Thanksgiving tomorrow!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Day Two of the So Suzy Stamps Bloghop with The Ton

Welcome to Day Two of our joint blog hop with The Ton!  I have totally fallen in love with the Mini Wild Florals and had an absolute BALL playing with all of the little blooms.  They are so petite and beyond adorable that I felt they would work out perfectly for a fairy garden.

All of the little flowers, leaves and sprays are from the Mini Wild Florals stamp set.  These are just a few from the entire set and talk about FUN!  I know we are headed into winter, but this desert rat is NOT ready for the colder weather and my poor flowers look extremely unhappy so I figured I would create my own spring garden that will never fade and die.

Our dancing fairy looks quite at home amidst the flowers and the new Nuvo Jewel Drops are INSANE!  The Pale Periwinkle matches our Thistle Thicket Ink Bite and the jewel drops remind me of lavender bubbles.

I have to say that I have an absolute love affair with Stitched Border Dies.  I just recently found this new love and I cannot believe I was so late to the game.  They not only add some great points of interest to your card, but your layers will ALWAYS be straight.  So it's a total win-win.

However, what I didn't realize when I purchased The Tons' stitched border dies, is her dies do the stitching on both ends of the paper!  The inside AND the outside. Which is what Double Stitched Border Die means.  (Ya, it was definitely a "duh" moment!)

See the stitching on the raised white rectangle around the fairy and then the outside stitched border?  How stinking cool is THAT?! You can add a focal point that 1) doesn't waste paper and 2) finishes off the look and feel of the card.

I simply stamped the entire 4.25" x 5.5" white paper then ran it through my Big Shot using the largest of her dies for the outside main border and then the smaller die that fit around the Dancing Fairy to pop her out.  No need to stamp her separately onto another piece of paper as she was just ready to be popped.

I finished the card by adding our Color of Spring sentiment to Vellum to soften up the look and I have instant Spring at my finger tips!

Thank you for stopping by Day 2 of The Ton and So Suzy Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop.  Be sure and join in on the Hop to be eligible for the great prizes we are giving away on Friday!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Blog Hop with The Ton

Are you ready for 3 days of a Ton of fun?  Effie and I decided that we needed to share our friendship and do a joint blog hop to start the holiday season off right.  For the next three days, you will be able to check out all of the cards our design team members have created using The Ton and So Suzy Stamps.  Hop on through, leave a comment, come back on Tuesday and Wednesday to see more creations and on Friday, we will announce the winners!

Prizes include

$25 Gift Certificate to The Ton
$25 Gift Certificate to So Suzy Stamps
Haute Wedding Bunkie Bag courtesy of Simply Charming Everyday

If you are here from Miss Effie's blog, you are in the right spot for the hop.

For today's card, I couldn't help but create a card that speaks volumes of Effie and I's friendship and the differences between our brands.  The Ton has classy and elegant stamps that positively blow my mind!  So Suzy Stamps tend to be a bit more snarky.  Very much like Effie and myself...sort of.  Effie is totally a closet snark lover.  =)

I couldn't think of a better way to combine our two brands than by creating an elegantly snarky card!
  • I used our Tulip Background stamp with the Nuvo Glitter Gold Enchantment Embossing Powder for the background.
  • The Born Classy set from The Ton is the PERFECT avatar for our snarky stamps and I think I will need to create an entire series using her, because she is FABULOUS!  Plus, she has coordinating dies, which made my life so much easier!
  • I used the star sparkle layer for the left half of her dress from the Born Classy set and it added the right amount of bling to go with the card.  (I will list Copic colors separately)
  • Our Amazing Things stamp paired wonderfully with our new Snark Queen.
  • I stamped the sentiment with black Staz-On and sprinkled some Nuvo Clear Embossing Powder over it to make it pop on the vellum.

Copic Colors Used
Skin: E50, E51 & E53
Hair: E23, E25, E27 & E29
Dress: E50

WE HAVE POINSETTIAS

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here in the Christmas mood and today I want to share our Poinsettias with you. Yes, you read that right, so take a look at my card:

Well, we don't exactly have poinsettias, but we can create poinsettias with our stamps. It is very easy and fun. I just used one stamp to create mine. The stamp is Ornament Bulb Stripe and this month I wanted to use it in all my creations, so here it is in another version.

If you want to see, how I made this card I will wait for you HERE in my blog. But believe me don't let the stamps run out, this stamp it is gorgeous and you will use so many times.

Happy shopping!

Have a Sweet Christmas with Shimmering Ornaments

Wow, can you believe that it is nearly the end of November already? Where does the time go? Good that we have weekend for now and that we can focus our energy on some card making :)

I was in the mood for Christmas cheer, so I used some of So Suzy's Ornament stamps and the Sweet Christmas sentiment to create a simple holiday card. Some more details and pictures can be found on my blog. Enjoy!

And now I'm off to sing some Christmas songs... "Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way..." ;)
