Welcome to Day Two of our joint blog hop with The Ton! I have totally fallen in love with the Mini Wild Florals and had an absolute BALL playing with all of the little blooms. They are so petite and beyond adorable that I felt they would work out perfectly for a fairy garden.
All of the little flowers, leaves and sprays are from the Mini Wild Florals stamp set. These are just a few from the entire set and talk about FUN! I know we are headed into winter, but this desert rat is NOT ready for the colder weather and my poor flowers look extremely unhappy so I figured I would create my own spring garden that will never fade and die.
Our dancing fairy looks quite at home amidst the flowers and the new Nuvo Jewel Drops are INSANE! The Pale Periwinkle matches our Thistle Thicket Ink Bite and the jewel drops remind me of lavender bubbles.
I have to say that I have an absolute love affair with Stitched Border Dies. I just recently found this new love and I cannot believe I was so late to the game. They not only add some great points of interest to your card, but your layers will ALWAYS be straight. So it's a total win-win.
However, what I didn't realize when I purchased The Tons' stitched border dies, is her dies do the stitching on both ends of the paper! The inside AND the outside. Which is what Double Stitched Border Die means. (Ya, it was definitely a "duh" moment!)
See the stitching on the raised white rectangle around the fairy and then the outside stitched border? How stinking cool is THAT?! You can add a focal point that 1) doesn't waste paper and 2) finishes off the look and feel of the card.
I simply stamped the entire 4.25" x 5.5" white paper then ran it through my Big Shot using the largest of her dies for the outside main border and then the smaller die that fit around the Dancing Fairy to pop her out. No need to stamp her separately onto another piece of paper as she was just ready to be popped.
I finished the card by adding our Color of Spring sentiment to Vellum to soften up the look and I have instant Spring at my finger tips!
Thank you for stopping by Day 2 of The Ton and So Suzy Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop. Be sure and join in on the Hop to be eligible for the great prizes we are giving away on Friday!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
