Hello, Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps fans! This is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness. I am sharing a colorful card today featuring a super cute and versatile stamp bundle called Knit Sweater Stamp Set. This set is pictured below and includes 3 wintery stamps that fir multiple occasions. I am making a watercolor-resist Valentine's Day card today with them. Best part...They are on SALE for a limited time!!
To start I stamped the trio of stamps all over a watercolor card panel in embossing ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I taped down the panel on all sides before I started adding my watercolors--this helps minimize warping of the paper as long as you do not remove the tape before the panel is dry!
For watercoloring, I used water-reactive ink pads in my stash and smooshed them onto my glass mat, spritzed them lightly with water, and then painted with them like I would regular paint.
I worked in rainbow-ish order adding them to the card, making sure I kept them wet so they would naturally swirl and blend with each other. After I was done and the panel was dry (you can use a heat gun to speed it up if you are in a hurry) I removed the tape and die cut the "XOXO" out of the panel. I mounted the panel onto a white card base, then inlayed the XOXO back into the die cut openings. This particular die cuts a shadow at the same time, so I removed that piece, and it allowed for the white card base to show through as an outline.
If you want to see the whole process, I have an IGTV video of all of it all over on my Instagram! I hope you enjoy it!
