Mixed Media Vintage Ladies Inspirational Cards

Hello, Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps fans!  This is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness. Happy February!  Today I am sharing a fun pair of cards that were a ton of fun to make!  I normally lean towards a very specific niche when it comes to designing cards---clean and colorful!  This is NOT my norm---but it was so much fun to learn and stretch myself on!

I have had these stamps sat together on my desk waiting for inspiration to strike for a while now, and it finally happened!!  I used Vintage Ladies, Confidence is Sexy, and Successful Women to make the cards.

The backgrounds were created with my gel press, acrylic paints, stencils, and a brayer.  I love the mixed media techniques I have been learning lately with my Gel Press---so FUN!  My ladies took the center stage though as I stamped them with embossing ink and then heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. My sentiments were stamped in embossing ink and heat embossed in black embossing powder. The glossy shine the embossing gives adds even more interest and texture to the cards!  I mounted the card panels onto gray card bases. I wanted the cards to each be a bit different, so I decided to splatter the front of one of the bases with white paint, it turned out to be my favorite!

The cards came together pretty quickly, as I used a wet adhesive to glue them directly onto the card panels and then finished them off with some sequins or rhinestones to add some bling!

What have you done lately that was outside of your crafty comfort zone??  I would love to hear about it in the comments!

You can find more inspiration, and share your own fabulous projects in the Crackerbox and Suzy Flaunt it if You Made it Facebook group!

That wraps up my post for today, I will be back here soon with another dose of red rubber inspiration!  Be sure to follow along with me over on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with all my caffeinated adventures!  Till next time, bye!
